Reverse harem monster romance.

A Slayer, a Monster and a Guardian, sitting in a bar...
No jokes... growing up, I’d heard the tales of a woman chosen to kill Monsters, but I never thought it would be me.

My thirtieth birthday was supposed to be a turning point in my life, it wasn’t supposed to turn it upside down.

Learning that the Monsters that lurk in the dark are real, and it’s my sworn duty to hunt and slay them, isn’t exactly how I wanted to celebrate this milestone birthday.

Now, instead of heading out for drinks with my friends, I’m being taught how to fight for my life by the Guardian I’m inextricably drawn to but no one told me it’s on-the-job training. And no one told me the Monsters I’m meant to be fighting are so hot. Three in particular who seem connected to me on various levels.

With the help of an unexpected, yet sexy new ally and an ancient weapon with a mind of its own, I set out to rid the world of this evil, but soon discover that not all is as it seems.

Review:

This book reads an awfully like a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfiction but with different characters in well-known roles - Camillia as Buffy, Anderson as Giles/Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, and Silas as possibly Angel or Spike? The only difference between the two is this one has more smut and the plot kinda loses itself in that.

Camilla has a job she dislikes but remains because it affords her the freedom to work on her novel and enjoy life's pleasures. On the eve of her birthday, Camilla glimpses something black walking behind a customer but brushes it off. Things get even stranger when she learns that she comes from a line of Monster Slayers and now it is her turn to pick up the mantle. But there are secrets waiting to be uncovered.

I really don't know how I feel about this book. On one end, it has everything I love - monsters, reverse harems, and sex. On the other end, the book seems to forget there is a plot and pushes it to the back allowing the sex to be more at the forefront than the plot. This becomes what many like to call PWP (plot? what plot? or porn without plot). This pretty much fits the bill.

The one thing I did like about the book is that the ending pretty much changes everything. Everything we thought we knew was going on changed in just seconds.
