Bayan is an outcast amongst the Siyo, a people who have healing powers. Considered worthless because she doesn’t have the ability to heal others, Bayan is sent to the court of Dhan, the Great Sun Emperor, who is cursed with unrelenting bloodlust and slaughters his concubines mercilessly. It seems that Bayan’s fate is sealed the moment she reaches the emperor’s palace and Dhan is fated to suffer from madness forever... But together, Bayan and Dhan just might be able to change each other’s destiny.

Review:

This series picks up from the cliffhanger of the second book. Bayan is given the chance to gain revenge on the people that killed her mother. Bayan does not seem to be a character that would seek revenge, but the loss of her mother has changed that. Before her departure from the Siyo village, she vowed she would get even with them through her relationship with the Emperor and she even made that quite clear when her relationship started with Dhan. She told him she wanted to use his power to seek revenge.

Honestly, if I were Bayan's shoes, I would feel the same way. They killed my mother and did not really give her a chance to grieve her death before shipping me off to be the next sacrificial bride to the bloodthirsty Emperor. I think she needed that closure whether it be a punishment of the village or the death of the elders that saw her as a problem that needed to be solved.

Throughout the third book, Dhan and Bayan grow together, not only as a couple but also as characters. Their relationship has been a slow burn and Dhan has been considerate of Bayan and her needs. He has been careful not to harm her and has done everything to protect her from the court's politics.

This is the relationship goal I have always wanted but I am glad to see the end come nicely wrapped up. They say there is a smut version of the third manga/manhwa/manhua but I have not come across it yet.

Final Thought:

This manga/manhwa/manhua has been a massive favorite of mine and I recently finished reading it all over again. I have always hated to come into a comic where it takes quite a while before the next season appears. So, I tend to go back into reading it when I notice the first chapter of the next season.

Anyway, if you love historical fiction and fantasy romance, this series is definitely one you should check out.

Review: This manhua/manga is one of my favorites. I absolutely adore the main characters and their devotion to each other. They are perfect together and you can see the love the two share with each other. Dhan (the Emperor) does everything in his power to keep Bayan protected and oftentimes he cannot do so as his enemies manage to find ways to harm Bayan. Still, it does not deter Dhan away from Bayan.

This really is one of my favorite stories. The characters are beautiful and well-fleshed out. No matter what is thrown at them, they still stay together and this is a love I wish for more than anything I could have for myself. I am so jealous. xD

Seriously, this season does end on a cliffhanger and I am quite excited to see what Season 3 will bring. I did see that the smut tag will be added to the next season. This will make things interesting.

Review: This was the manga that drew me back into reading comics. I absolutely found the storyline unique among many of the cliche among the others. This one stood out. It has mythology and I am in love with anything that deals with mythology be it Greek, Asian, Norse, etc.

Before we continue, please note that there will be spoilers ahead for this manga. If you do not want to be spoiled. Please skip this review.

Final Thoughts: I absolutely love this manhwa/manhua. It drew me back into the world of manga and has become one of my absolute favorites. Bayan/Dhan are so cute together and you can see he loves her. He dotes on her, teaches her to read and write, and even encourages her to learn more.

I highly recommend this manhwa/manhua who loves historical romances and dramas. This one has a lot of it in it. Bayan, despite being abused by her village, remains a beautiful soul, but she has ever a slight mean streak against the village who used her and even killed her mother.

Read it. You won't be disappointed.
