Book Summary: The Tarot is much more than a simple divining tool. While it can give accurate and detailed answers to questions when used for fortune-telling, it can also lead you down the road to self-discovery. This text tells the reader how to use the Tarot cards for meditation and self-enlightenment, as well as for divination. It offers a straightforward definition of the meaning of each card that can be applied to any system of interpretation, with any Tarot deck, using any card layout. The book also requires no prior knowledge of the Tarot. It provides an overview of the cards of the Major and Minor Arcana in terms of their origin, purpose and interpretive uses as well as clear, in-depth descriptions and interpretations of each card.
Book Review: If you asked me which of my tarot decks is a favorite of mine, I really could not tell you because I have a special connection with each and every one of them. But if it came down to a favorite, it would be the first tarot gifted to me by my mother - the Rider Waite deck.
This was also one of the first books given to me by my late mother. This book was somewhat my bible to learning everything about the deck I was determined to learn about. It gave me different reading spreads, offered insight into the deck itself, and helped me carve a path to other decks I would eventually own.
Unfortunately, I lost my physical copy somewhere in the house and I had torn this place apart looking for it. I did not find it but I was so happy Amazon had it in Kindle form. I knew I had to get it and renew my love once more for the different spreads contained within.
I know this book is not for everyone, but if you are a first-time reader of the cards and want to learn a little bit more about different spreads or the cards themselves, then this is the book for you to dive into. Every spread is different and every spread uses different parts of the deck. This will help you to decide which spread is best to use when it comes to using the decks you buy.
This book won't be a disappointment. Give it a chance and enjoy what this book can offer you.
