Title: The Vampire's Mail Order Bride (Nocturne Falls #1)
Author: Kristen Painter
Format: Epub
Rating: 3.5/5
Status: Finished
Reading Date: March 20 to 26, 2016
Book Summary: Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town where Halloween is celebrated 365 days a year. The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better. Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs and all.

After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. What she doesn't know is her groom to be is a 400-year-old vampire.

Hugh Ellingham has only agreed to the set up to make his overbearing grandmother happy. His past means love is no longer an option. Except he never counted on Delaney and falling in love for real.

Too bad both of them are keeping some mighty big secrets
Book Review: Real Rating: 3.5

It had been awhile since I had last picked up a book by this author. In fact, I had not finished up the House of Comarré series (and I need to do so but I am sure that since it has been awhile, I will need to re-read the series once more) quite yet. Normally her books are in the world of urban fantasy but this series was fluff, something I was not quite expecting from her.

Perhaps this might be her first dabble in this type of genre and I thought she did a wonderful job but I think my deepest problem was there was a bit too much fluff for me.

Aspiring candy maker, Delaney was a really likable character and one the reader could relate to on some levels. She did not come across as any Mary Sue. She had problems and flaws like everyone else. She adores her beloved fat cat, Captain Underpants, and spoils him to the point of rottenness. Now that is definitely something I have a kinship with her on. xD

On top of all that, who would not like to live in a town where it is Halloween 365 days a year? Sign me up!

Again the only beef was the too much fluff. Otherwise I really enjoyed this book immensely. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes humor and fluff wrapped up in one little package. I am planning to read more of this series and I am quite looking forward to immersing myself into the world of Nocturne Falls.
