But she’s not alone. She’s being watched by the winter prince, and he has an offer for her that she can’t refuse. In exchange for his protection, and safe passage out of Faery, she must give him an heir.
With no other choice, she accepts. Little does she know that the prince’s bed chamber and the politics of the Winter Court might prove just as dangerous as the wilds of Faery...
Review: I loved how short this story it was. It was a nice little read with a satisfying ending.
However, this was more of a porn with little or no plot. Oh, there is a plot but it was so little that you had to squint to find it. It was there. A plot to take down the King so that her lover/mate could take the throne. He believed that our FMC, being such a badass that she was supposed to be, would be a great queen and great to rule by his side. Plus, he has been watching her ever since she went through the veil and found herself stranded in his land.
That was the plot albeit small but it was there. The porn pretty much outweighed it. Even the action was nothing worthwhile that would have stood out. I was a bit sad that it fell completely flat. I almost DNFed this book but I pressed on with the hope that would have been better but it did not.
Don't get me wrong here - I love the erotica side of these stories. I love fae romances. They have become one of my favorite reads, but I just could not connect with either character. They were one-dimension and their personality just - could not like either one of them, especially Raven. Perhaps the whole insta-mate thing was just not for me.
