Sypnosis: Everyone fears the Dark Elf King. Varys is known as a fierce and lethal warrior; none can stand against his armies.
When I’m captured by the Dark Elves and taken before their king, my first thought is of escape. The moment our eyes meet, King Varys claims I am his Fated One—his Khio’ri.
Humans and Elves have been enemies for centuries, but his people believe that a soulbond woven by fate cannot be undone.
I doubt he’s ever going to let me go. But what does it mean to be Bound to the Dark Elf King?
Review: I have been on a romance novel kick these past few weeks and this book has been on my radar for some time. When I finally managed to snag some time to read this, I found myself a bit disappointed by the chemistry between Varys and Inara. There was no sort of bond warning for Varys that Inna was the right one for him, only that the moment he saw her did he realize. oO
Sorry, but I felt that I did not warrant the whole bonding thing. Maybe I am used to the stories where the bond is like a "spidey sense" and alerts the bonding pair that there is another nearby. This bond felt like "Oh there you are. You are my bonded/fated half" and the female lead just believes it. It just did not feel believable to me.
Even the chemistry was missing between them. I just did not feel any connection between the two. I don't know but this story was just meh to me. Completely and utterly meh to me. I am hoping the next one will be a bit better.
