A betrayal. A vow for revenge. And a deal that will change her life forever.
Eva's life is crumbling before her very eyes. Betrayed by her fiancé, framed by her family, and stripped of everything she’s worked for her entire life, she is desperate for revenge. At her lowest point, she encounters a mysterious stranger—devastatingly handsome and the wealthy heir to her family's rival corporate empire. Her thirst for vengeance drives her to strike a bargain with him.
Fully prepared to pay a heavy price for what she desires, she braces for the worst. But as her plans unfold, she starts to realize that this arrangement might not be so bad after all. Is making a deal with the devil not as damning as they say, or is he merely setting up a paradise as a prelude to her greater fall to hell?
Eva will do anything to get her revenge, and with one month to decide her fate, can she achieve everything she desires after making a deal with the devil?
Review:
"Be careful what you wish for, miss. A certain devil here might hear your wish and claim your soul."
Eva has been discarded by the family, stripped of her power, and found her boyfriend in bed with another all in one day. Distraught by the betrayal, Eva finds herself drinking away her sorrows when a handsomely delicious young man sits next to her, offering her the very thing she craves—revenge.
I love this manga/manhwa/manhua. Its characters, art, plot, and world-building are unique. We have our strong female lead, Eva, who her family has cast aside. All her life she has been striving to take over the family business, only to learn she is not part of their family, and what is worse is the fact her boyfriend, Julian, is an asshole. I don't know why but I hated the guy the moment he stepped out onto the pages. I am hoping with the upcoming new season we see her kick his butt.
And Gage? Gage is gorgeous! I don't think he has a flaw in him. He is devoted and possessive of Eva all at the same time. Even protective.
I love them both.
But in all seriousness, Eva is strong and has a rather beautiful chemistry with Gage, the son of her family's rival. They are beautiful together and while a secret was revealed about him in a seasonal cliffhanger, I cannot wait to see how Eva reacts to this.
The art is another plus. I don't think I have ever seen a beautiful attention to detail in both the characters, the side characters, and the city around them. To me, the author has taken their time and put a lot of love into their work and this shows ALOT.
This has become one of my favorite graphic novels and it's light novel is just as great of a read. If you are looking for something before reading the graphic novel, then I recommend you pick up this but trust me when I say you won't regret the graphic novel.
