What happens when you choose the Villain and his two Stepbrothers instead of the Prince...
Ella
Two years ago, I thought I landed the perfect dream job, with a charming boss.
Two years later, I'm stuck in that same job which is far from perfect and my boss is far from charming.
Now I'm faced with a no-win situation, where my life will no longer be my own.
Caught up in the magic of the annual Charming Masked Ball I embrace the fantasy of the night and fall for not one, not two, but three masked strangers.
It was only supposed to be one night built on a fantasy, but now my three fantasy lovers have slipped into my reality.
This is a Why Choose/RH story where the main female character has more than one male love interest who share her.
Review:
Ella has been in her assistant job for two years. This was not the job she had signed up for at Charming House. She has become nothing short of a slave to both Philip Charming and his mother. She is always tasked with taking care of the mother's dog and running errands. This was not the job she had wanted. Her dream had been to become of the fashion house's famous creators, but they stifle her. Now, she is forced to take on the role of planner for the upcoming Masquerade Ball.
Her best friend, Bri, decides that she is going to surprise Ella with a gown made of gold complete with shoes and underwear, and sends her off to enjoy the ball. But the moment she gets there, she learns that Philip Charming has made a decision on her future and there are three very delectable males who want to change her world.
I love Ella. I absolutely adore Bri. And our three villains? Well, I would not call them villains. More the anti-heroes because they really don't do much villainy except toward Philip and his mother and even that is a bit watered down. I think if the novel were a bit longer than shorter, I think the author would have a more fleshed-out version of the three being villains.
We do get a small backstory to both Ella and her three men. Ella's story is just a bit like the original tale of Cinderella, but not with the violence. Still, this is a book that could draw its readers in until the very end.
Final Thought:
Now I am looking forward to seeing Bri's story.
