Book Summary: THE COST OF FAILURE. To command an IMPERIAL DESTROYER is a coveted position. But with such great responsibility comes grave consequences if you fail your mission. How far will one officer go to spare himself from the judgment of DARTH VADER?
Book Review: It seems these issues are not connected on any level with the exception of having Vader somewhere within the pages. Unfortunately in this issue, his appearances are brief but the affect of him is felt throughout. We meet Hallum whom is shows you (albeit briefly) the terror and horror of what it is like to be at the forefront of Vader's anger and it is not pretty whatsoever. Anyone whom has displeased him seems to have met this sort of fate and thus our main character Hallum is trying desperately to avoid such a fate. He knows the role of being in charge of your own star destroyer is a coveted role but this role comes with tons of stress to the point that you will need to do anything in your power to insure that it remained in such a way.

This issue was not my favorite. The main character seemed to be one-dimensional when he shouldn't have. His anger was laughable and didn't come across as serious as it should have been. Otherwise this issue was interesting. I can sympathize with the character though especially when you have someone like Vader breathing down your neck.

Book Summary: WHO IS DARTH VADER? He has been many things: a SITH warrior, a commander, a destroyer. DARTH VADER is to many throughout the GALACTIC EMPIRE a symbol of fear and mysterious, otherworldly power. But there are some who have seen the DARK LORD in a different light. There are some corners of the galaxy so dark and desperate that even Vader can be a knight in shining armor. The first issue of a new STAR WARS limited series, writer Dennis Hopeless (CLOAK AND DAGGER, JEAN GREY) sheds new light on the many sides of the galaxy’s greatest villain.
Book Review: In this new series, the Empire and the Rebellion Alliance are waging war against each other above a planet. Below inhabitants are watching the carnage. Vader is out on the front lines in a dogfight against the rebels. Long ago, Vader was not only the Chosen one but one of the greatest Jedi pilots and he goes on to prove this even if the rebels he is fighting have no idea of his former identity. Unfortunately for Vader, he is hit and is forced to crashland on the planet below. As Vader kicks out the door of his ship, he finds himself face-to-face with a monster. The inhabitants of the planet pretty much write-off Vader off as food for the monster. What they did not take into account was Vader's strength, making this colossal fight one for the inhabitants to write for the ages to come. In the end, Vader pretty much is the winner of this fight. As for the inhabitants, they are not sure what to make of Vader and his victory over the monster.

Although this was a good start, the issue came off as a bit short. Vader crashes on a planet. Fights something. And then goes off on the next adventure that awaits. That is all this issue has. Vader's fights against something or someone are usually on an epic scale and this one just didn't seem to be that way. In fact, it came off as flat. I was a bit disappointed in this issue. I am hoping the next one will do something to amaze me.
